( Hrothbert felt the movement of the skull the moment it began and had a half-sense of arms pressing around him. Since he knew his dear master would never wrap him up in a hug, it had to be Harry. )

( 'ELIZABETH!' I roared as I charged towards the shattered front door of the house, having jumped out of Beetle before it even came to a stop. I shouldered what remained of the wood aside and continued into the house without waiting. )

Shocking, I know.  Anyway, mainly posting about lovely lovely lovely pair of HP fics I just discovered.  Harry and Severus are the main characters involved but its not slash nor father/son - again, rather a shock for the latter as anyone that knows my dirth of HP fanfics knows they're all mostly SS/HP father/son.  Its rather more...the pair of them discovering some truths about each other.  And written very well with all the voices well in place.

Death Hallows bits are inserted but it occurs neither just before it nor during it nor within those last few moments of Severus' life as I've seen many do.  ( yes, I did just put that there.  its been an good while since its release and I don't bloody care anymore about spoilers because of that fact.  I do apologize to Kat if you're reading and don't know about that as well as to the fact that I haven't shipped the book to you yet - keep forgetting to go get stamps from the post office )  Anyway...the second story isn't yet completed, I don't think - as of yet I haven't finished it myself - but it looks so far like it might be coming to a close soon.

The main characters you'll see are Harry, Severus, Dumbledore, and a good little helping of Luna.  Who, since DH and the fifth movie (movie Luna is bloody perfect in my honest opinion), has become one of my favorite characters.  This story just heightens that and I dearly wish I'd placed more focus on her in places within my fanfics.
